If you will allow me a personal note…to Reid, Micah, A.J. and Ben, the four Seniors in my band camp group, thanks to all of you for making band camp and the last few months especially fun for me – I’m gonna miss you guys.  To all of our band Seniors…dream big but don’t just follow your dreams…instead, chase them with a passion and make all of your efforts in all you do Nothing Less Than The Best!

CONGRATULATIONS !!

To the members, staff and parents of the Viking Band. Congratulations and thank you for a wonderful season. It has been a long journey watching this group of young people grow up and learn about themselves and performance. To the parents and staff, thank you for the investment you make in our students success, each day in hundreds of ways. NONE of this is possible without each of you…. Thank you for all you do.

To our students; Today and tonight, I heard stories over and over about people openly weeping in the stands as you guys finished.. I looked back to see a veteran standing at the end of the show, tears streaming down his face as he saluted the field at the end of the tag. The awards and honors are wonderful, but the knowledge that you connected with your audience…… that you stirred their soul with your performance… Nothing can top that….. No trophy, no competitive placement… Simply the knowledge that you lived up to your own potential as performers…. it’ll be a night you recall fondly for many years to come…. And a night the Armstrong’s, the Sinks and the rest of the staff recall very fondly as well…. Thank you for never giving up…. Enjoy the memories !

It was a rainy night in Georgia…and another heartbreaker of a game.  Conditions were lousy and weren’t predicted to improve toward half-time…

Whitewater

A chilly night and a muddy playing field gave way to the excitement of another Viking win and the crowning of Ms. Kelsi Adams as Northgate’s 2009 Homecoming Queen.

The band was to play post-game and Mr. A elected to have the kids perform on the track instead of on the soft, muddy field…
