I wasn’t able to be at the game Friday night but Mrs D. took a few photos for me. Hope to add a few from other folks as well in the near future. Check ’em out…

Coweta County Exhibition
Wow! Just wow!! Five great marching bands from Coweta, Upson and Pike counties performed in tonight’s Exhibition. I continue to be amazed on a weekly basis at the talent these kids have and the level they take their performances to. Northgate, as expected, was no exception. Check ’em out:

All Day Practice No. 2
The second all-day practice is in the books. 9:00 a.m. t0 9:00 p.m. with just a couple of breaks for meals and a little free time makes for a long day. But at the end of the day when the kids go through a full run out on the field and it all comes together, its worth it for everyone, kids, staff and parents alike.

Fayette County
The Vikings put another notch in the win column Friday night to make us 3-1 for the year with their win over Fayette Co and I’m still sticking by my earlier prediction that this just might be a long fun season. While many of the players are the same, they look like a very different team from the past few years…they have a very different ‘never give up’ attitude and intensity.
The football team aren’t the only ones off to a good start this year. The marching band is progressing well and are looking great through the first four performances and are on track for the first competition performance at Armuchee HS weekend after next…

Ola
Can you say nail-biter? If any high school football game could ever be called a nail-biter it was last nights game between Northgate and Ola. Don’t know about the rest of y’all but I’m liking what I’m seeing this year…a bunch of kids who just don’t give up until the last whistle is blown. Congrats to the Vikings for a well deserved win!!
Not only is the football team looking good, so is the marching band. Last night the kids marched the opener and the ballad and were looking and sounding good. Here’s a few photos…

Jones County
Took a lonnnnng bus ride down to Gray in Jones County with the marching band last Friday night to see the Vikings take on the Grayhounds. Northgate got off to a slow start but came fighting back in the 2nd half to make game a nail-biter and almost put another one in the win column (Hey, how many football cliche’s are allowed in a bandblog anyway?). Gotta be proud of those guys for not giving up when things didn’t look so good.
Regardless of the outcome of the game the band and guard looked and sounded great…check ’em out…
